Do you need an ax in your preparedness gear?
Просмотров 2282 месяца назад
I love power tools, but without gasoline or electricity they may become useless. During an emergency this could be really, really bad. In those cases, an old school backup tool may be the best bet during an emergency. I found that out recently when a big oak tree branch fell in my backyard. I was able to chop it up with my Hultz Bruk felling axe, but it required a lot of physical effort. #Hultz...

Beautiful knife! Thanks for posting. I have big hands and just bought the knife today.
Like hardtack, Pilot bread is best used as a thickener for soups and stews
Mahonia or en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berberis_aquifolium
They grow in the Willamette Valley also. I don’t think they’re edible.
Years ago, I was walking near a traffic circle, and a large Royal Palm frond fell in front of a car and caused a 3 vehicle fender bender. Poor city planning.
Very pretty. Sorry I can't help. I'm from the far side of the country.
Thank you for digitally preserving this cultural history. Fascinating!
Let's be honest. He forgot to buy that item and went back in line after the fact.
Did not!!!!
That's huge. Well done.
That is self-control God bless you brother.

Obviously that glue is flammable, eh?
That may be hogweed. If it is, it is toxic to humans. Don’t touch it.
NEVER give Jesse Hemphill any money.. I sent him 3000 US worth of European materials, bought 2 knives which I never got. When Confronted, he just blocked me on social media, while using his divorce with his X wife Trish as an excuse to avoid any accountability. The man's nothing more than a common liar, riding the wave of people calling him "uncle Jesse". I have all the receipts and messages from both of them during that time, Jesse messed up his marriage, he wont talk about ANY OF IT, he just blames his X for the problems he created. The man's been lying about his apprenticeship for about 35 years.. He never got his papers, he's just hoping to fake it till he makes it. Look at his knives on the secondary market. Huge damascus bowies are going for under 250( They're not selling) when they started at 1300. Just look at the dudes plungelines, bevels, blade thickness is all over the place, he cant make the same thing twice, he needs others to help him with that.. The knives that actually sold where made by Bark River, NOT jesse... Ever since that, Jesse hasn't been able to make anything retailers want. It's only his friends who buy's his knives in hopes of getting online cred in knife groups. Let's not forget the fact he keeps getting told by other makers, he should quit the industry and stay away. Spencer Aplin gave him a good scolding a few years back at blade show. Well deserved too. Jesse has a bunch of Yes-men surrounding him, that's why he hasn't improved one bit in past 10 years I've known the guy. Remember Jesse's knives dont sell. The Models Bark River made did. He even turned down a joboffer at BRKT, simply because he felt better then them.. And look what that arrogance and ego got him.. I remember when he threw a bunch of shade at LT. Wright for not being as cool as BRKT. Must be annoying seeing a company thrive when you, yourself is a failure.

These have been the best....hands down
Yep!
Poor testing. You tried to hack through paper when you should have been gently slicing through to demonstrate its sharpness. The on the fish, that no how you take the rib cage off. It’s looks like a very nice knife but your testing falls short
A major component in the deaths of many of these 24 people were from the people using what they thought was saleratus (natural baking powder) to raise their bread, but were actually using alkali from the dry lakebeds, which is potassium hydroxide. Lye.
I found another grave on the Meek cutoff. Catherine Butts, died on the trail in 1845. Grave is near Tygh Valley. I made a video of my search.
Nice!
I thought I ruined a leather sheath getting caught in the rain this past weekend, way loose. I have to try and salvage it using this method.
Let us know how it works out!
Beautiful! 😍
Sometimes, all we need us a little nudge toward a "re-set" to get our minds back on track. Thank you😊
Ah, very nice😊
Queen Ann's lace.
Great! I was hoping it wasn't poison hemlock!
Oh, go for it! Wont need salad dressing.
Broadleaf plantain. There is also a lot of narrow leaf plantain around.
Broadleaf plantain? Yanten?
“Other things” 🤨🤨🤨🤨 what are you smoking
I've had one of these longer then I can remember great wallet
Good to know
I don’t see any in depth reviews on this knife is it good for everything for real 🤔
When I was a kid I played out in the woods, building forts, making things with ropes and sticks, and logs, and such. All the same basic bushcrafting stuff. Except I didn't have internet or the boyscouts to teach me anything, so I had to figure things out for myself. There was one knot that was my go-to. It was almost a taughtline knot minus that second loop around the main line. If only I had played around with it just a little bit more, I could've figured that out. I did learn the square knot on my own, and then years later learned that it is an actual knot.
If you pur a lid on the por you save about 15% time and energy to get the water boiling.
True.
Looks great. Tranks 👍
Nice video, I hadn't thought of shrink tubing. What size works best for paracord? Thanks.
Couldn't tell you - whatever size just fits over the end.
Good video .but your video is not seo so your video is not getting views, you need video (95+ seo score) If you SEO your video properly, your video will get a lot of views. I can help you with SEO if you want.
I thought green wood was softer than aged wood?
I guess it would be, because the sap has not dried out of the wood yet.
It wood give more and different option when other options are knot available:)

What are those boots with the red laces?
Those are Timberline Earthkeepers. survivalcommonsense.com/best-everyday-or-bug-out-boots/
Can I use this if I r hanging the tarp up high to make like just a roof that's up off the ground
Seems to me that that would work.
Nice! I appreciate the review. Where they under $200? They seem like they were engineered well and the folks put a lot of thought into the design features. I'll be looking forward to your follow up after your southwest trip😊 Thank you so much 😊❤😊
That same stove today 21 May 2024, per cost at Home Depot will cost you around $40.00. What a difference 12year can make.
By the way great video. Explains the process well.
I got 20 bricks for a class at the Georgia Bushcraft Conference in April and they cost 88 cents apiece. The best deal is to salvage bricks from a chimney.
بہت خوب 👌❤️👍
rocks from which streams burst forth
Genial!...que medidas tienen esos ladrillos?
No importa el tamaño de los ladrillos, siempre que sean todos del mismo tamaño.
Definitely looks to be a dandy! I’ve got the GT medium right now and like it very much too.
You are the first out of many videos I have watched to suggest having a second garbage bag to cover your lower body! I had thought of that but had not thought to carry a precut piece of cordage of my waist size to tie the bag up! Great idea!
Peter Kummerfeldt told me about this technique. We all learn from others. Thanks for watching!
Hi. Great video. I always wondered how you would be able to prevent the tool from rusting out on you in a long term survival situation. I remember Les Stroud using one around salt water in the show Survivorman. Many have used it on the show Alone. I recently went to use mine which I keep in my garage. It was really rusty and most of the tools were nearly impossible to get out because of the rust. Wouldn’t that be a concern to a survivalist? If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate it. Thanks again. 😊
The only suggestion I could make, since I don't know where you live, is to keep it dry and oiled. I live in Mississippi - think REALLY hot and humid - and I do this. No problems with rust.
Thank you so much! Great way to spark enthusiasm with the youngsters for nature, self sufficiency, and tasty treats from "mother" earth😊❤😊
